The council is consulting on the admission arrangements for all its schools in North Lincolnshire.
Some of the academies responsible for their own pupil admission arrangements are proposing to make changes for the 2026/27 intake year which require public consultation and the council is co-ordinating these consultations on behalf of the following academies:
The Lincolnshire Gateway Academies Trust is proposing new admission arrangements for Kirton Academy.
The main changes are to the order of the oversubscription criteria, with siblings moving above catchment children and the children of staff employed at the academy being inserted as a new criteria after catchment children.
Winterton Community Academy is proposing to reduce its admission number from 144 to 90, due to falling need for places in the catchment area.
Full copies of the proposed arrangements and further details of the consultation are available on the school admissions consultation page on our website.
There are many other academies and schools in North Lincolnshire that are either required to hold a consultation, as it is seven years since their last one, or that have voluntarily chosen to undertake a consultation due to the number of schools consulting this year.
None of them are making any changes to their arrangements.
A full list is on the school admissions consultation page of our website.
All the consultations run until Friday 31st January 2025.
Parents and any other interested parties can send their comments on the proposed admission arrangements to sean.kendrew@northlincs.gov.uk or via post to Sean Kendrew, Access Manager (Admissions and Transport), North Lincolnshire Council, Church Square House, 30-40 High Street, Scunthorpe, North Lincolnshire DN15 6NL.
