The new Mayor and Deputy Mayor of North Lincolnshire will be appointed at the council’s annual meeting on Thursday 17 May.
The annual meeting of North Lincolnshire Council will take place at the Civic Centre, Scunthorpe from 10.30am.
The new Mayor and Deputy Mayor will be declared at the formal mayor-making ceremony as part of the meeting in the Council Chamber.
The current Mayor of North Lincolnshire, Cllr Peter Clark will reveal the total amount the Mayor’s Appeal Fund has raised for his chosen charity When You Wish Upon A Star over the past year.
The new Mayor will announce the charity that will benefit from the Mayor’s Appeal Fund for the next year.
Cllr Peter Clark, outgoing Mayor of North Lincolnshire, said:
“Being the Mayor over the past year has been a real honour. I have met so many people and visited a wide variety events, all of which has been very enjoyable. It is great to go out into communities and find out what they are doing, as well as championing my chosen charity, When You Wish Upon A Star. I have hosted a number of events throughout the year to raise money for the charity – even taking to the sky and completing a 15,000 feet skydive raising thousands of pounds.
“The mayor-making ceremony is going to be a great day. I’d like to wish my successor all the best over the next year as Mayor of North Lincolnshire.”
