Normanby Park Sports and Activity Club have received a grant of £33,560 from North Lincolnshire Council’s Community Grant Fund.

The grant will help the club fund new equipment, including buying and installing new cricket nets at their Bagmoor Lane pitch.

Burton and Winterton ward councillors, Elaine Marper, Ralph Ogg and Helen Rowson, met with members of the club on Friday 6 July to see the facilities that have benefitted from the grant funding.

Cllr Elaine Marper said:

“Through our Community Grant programme we’re able to fund projects such as this that make a huge difference in their communities.

“We’re proud to be able to provide this support to the Cricket Club and it fits our vision to support projects that promote active communities and healthy lifestyles.”

The grant funding for the Sports and Activity Club forms part of a £500,000 investment in sports facilities in Burton. Other projects funded have included skate park extension, bowls pavilion, gym equipment and the Playing Fields pavilion.

Community Grant Funding is available to community groups, town and parish councils, registered charities sports clubs and individuals to help support them in making North Lincolnshire an excellent place to work, live and play.
