Disability summer games

9 August 2017

This year’s ‘Do Something Different’ summer games, for anyone aged 16 and above with a disability, will be held at The Pods on Tuesday 22 August from 1.30pm to 4pm.

Some of the activities included this year are:

  • Indoor forest school
  • Chair-based exercises
  • Drama
  • Circuit training
  • Arts and crafts

More activities will be confirmed nearer the time. The event is completely free of charge but places will be limited. Booking is not essential but if you would like a guaranteed place, contact Telle Medhurst on telle.medhurst@northlincs.gov.uk or 07717 587270.

Cllr Carl Sherwood, cabinet member for Community Wellbeing at North Lincolnshire Council said,

“Our ‘Do Something Different’ games are held twice each year; once in summer and once in winter. They are designed to let adults with a disability have a go at a range of activities, completely free of charge, in a safe and supportive environment.

“Whether you attend each year, or have never been before, please come along and have a go at some or all of the things on offer.

“We provide the activities based on what has been popular previously, and what people have told us they enjoy. If you would like to book a place, or would like more information, contact Telle who will be happy to help.”
