Strategic Flood Risk Assessment

Strategic Flood Risk Assessment

Strategic Flood Risk Assessment (SFRA) was adopted in August 2012. They are prepared as a requirement of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF) as evidence towards helping local planning authorities make decisions on development proposals in flood risk areas.

It also forms evidence for other important documents such as Sustainability Appraisals of planning policy documents and is the basis from which to apply the Sequential and Exception Tests.

To find out which flood risk zone your site/property is in, the SFRA Mapping can be viewed through our  interactive mapping system
