The main purpose of the Learning Disability Partnership is to:
- help improve outcomes for people with learning disabilities
- give them opportunities to ‘have a voice’ about things that affect their lives and their communities
The Learning Disability Partnership is a citizen partnership. It has two service user co-chairs and a professional co-chair. The partnership also has service user representatives from the local Time for Action Group, Gateway and other service user voice groups.
All service users with learning disabilities, carers, parents or other family members can attend the partnership.
Meetings take place on a quarterly basis at the Learning Development Centre on Enderby Road in Scunthorpe. Representatives from Adults Services, the Advocacy Service, Health, schools and voluntary organisations also regularly attend the partnership.
Learning Disability Awareness Week 2018
We are supporting Learning Disability Awareness Week (18 June to 26 June 2018). Partners on the Learning Disability Partnership - including Carers Support Centre, North Lincolnshire Council, Rotherham Doncaster and South Humber NHS Foundation Trust, Cloverleaf, Ongo, and others are working together to host a range of events and activities.
The Learning Disability Partnership is a group of people, carers and partners who work together to improve outcomes for people with learning disabilities, as well as giving them opportunities to have a voice about things that affect their lives and their communities.
Learning Disability Awareness Week 2018 is a great opportunity to hold specific events and raise awareness of some of the information, support and activities available in the area for people with learning disabilities and their families and carers.
Together the Partnership has developed a programme of events and activities. For more information about what is happening locally take a look at our timetable [PDF, 73Kb].
