Council Tax payments and balances

Council tax payments

Please Note:

We are currently experiencing an issue with updating Council Tax account balances. Payments from Monday 5th June are not currently showing on the MyAccount service. We are working to resolve this problem and will update the balances as soon as possible.

Please accept our apologies for this issue.

We offer a range of easy and convenient ways to pay your council tax.

Pay online

You can pay your council tax online with our easy and secure payment facility.

Pay council tax

You will need your council tax account number (found on your bill) and a credit or debit card to make a payment.

Once you have entered your account number you will see your outstanding balance. This is updated each night to reflect payments or account changes.

We may make a charge for credit card payments.

Rather than paying online each month you can set up a regular Direct Debit payment.

Pay by Direct Debit

Direct Debit ensures regular payments are made on your choice of 1st, 8th, 15th or 22nd day of the month. This is our preferred payment method.

Setting up a Direct Debit is easy and you are protected by the Direct Debit guarantee.

If you do not already pay by Direct Debit and wish to start you can print out and complete a  Direct Debit instruction [PDF, 156Kb] and return it to the address on the form.

Alternatively a Direct Debit can be set up by telephone if both the bank account and council tax account are in your name. You can call us on  01724 297000.

You will need your council tax account number (found on your bill) and your bank account details.

Pay by telephone

Call 0300 3031014 to pay at any time of day.

You will need your council tax account number (found on your bill) and a credit or debit card to make a payment. We will make a small charge for credit card payments, but not for debit card payments.

Pay by standing order

You must arrange a standing order with your own bank. You will need the following information:

  • Our Barclay's bank sort code      20-76-14
  • Our bank account number         83416593

Ensure that only your council tax account number (found on your bill) is quoted.

Pay in person

Your barcoded council tax bill can be used when making payment in the following ways:

  1. Cash cheque or debit card at any Post Office®.
  2. Cash at a shop that has PayPoint.

You will need your barcoded bill and your payment. If you need a replacement barcoded bill please call us on 01724 297000.

Pay by post

We accept cheque and postal order payments by post.

Cheques and postal orders should be crossed and made payable to North Lincolnshire Council. You should send you payment and Council Tax bill to:
