There are various ways you can buy a certified copy of birth, marriage and death certificates. You can:
- Order and pay on our secure online site by using a debit or credit card
- Telephone the Register Office on 01724 298555 and pay by debit or credit card, cheque or postal order
- Visit the Register Office in person, complete an application form and pay the required fee by debit or credit card
- Write to us enclosing details of the entry required, enclosing a cheque or postal order made payable to 'North Lincolnshire Council'
The cost of the certificate depends on the service you choose. Please note that the Register Office does not accept payments in cash.
The online payment system will be unavailable on Wednesday 10 January 2018. Copy certificates can be ordered over the telephone with the Register Office.
Next day service
Personal, postal, online and telephone applications cost £15 for certificates to be sent by first class post within one working day to UK addresses and £15.50 where they are sent to addresses outside the UK.
If you apply by post or in person and don't mind how long your application takes to deal with, the fee is £10 and the certificate will be sent out using second class post. We will try to deal with your application within five working days but this is not always possible.
If you need a certificate urgently, we can usually do this within one hour during our normal opening hours. The fee is £25.
What if the certificate is not the one I need?
We can only send you the certificate you have applied for. If it is a common name, it may be difficult to determine which certificate you need.
If you are not confident that the certificate applied for is the correct entry, it is best to either email email@example.com or write to ask us to check.
We cannot give a refund if you later find that it is not the right certificate.
