Personal, postal, online and telephone applications cost £15 for certificates to be collected from the Register Office, within one working day.
If you apply by post or in person and don't mind how long your application takes to deal with, the fee is £10 and the certificate will be available to collect after 5 working days.
If you need a certificate urgently, we can usually do this within one hour during our normal opening hours (Monday-Friday only) The fee is £25.
If you would like your certificate posting to you, there will be an additional fee of £2 to pay. The certificate will be posted using Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. We use this option to ensure the safe delivery of certificates. You will need to pay this fee upon application, and provide us with a full postal address the certificate should be sent to.
What if the certificate is not the one I need?
We can only send you the certificate you have applied for. If it is a common name, it may be difficult to determine which certificate you need.
If you are not confident that the certificate applied for is the correct entry, it is best to either email firstname.lastname@example.org or write to ask us to check.
We cannot give a refund if you later find that it is not the right certificate.
